A head sweater, especially the Aloo...and slightly adapted from other recipes I have found with things I had to hand....

Ingredients for the hot chilli chicken:

Hot Chilli Chicken 1

chicken
1 large onion (forgot to put this in the photo)
3 cloves of garlic
Dash of hot chilli sauce (or three finely chopped bird eye chillies)
2 teaspoons of cumin seeds
1 teaspoon of garam masala
salt
1 tsp of tamarind paste

Ingredient sfor the Bombay Aloo:

Bombay Aloo 1

3 large potatoes
1 large onion
2 tablespoons of tomato puree
4 sliced cloves of garlic
2 teaspoons of medium curry powder
1 teaspoon of cumin powder
3 chopped bird eye chillies (I have a packet of dry I juts crushed up)
1 teaspoon of turmeric
1 teaspoon of worcetsershire sauce
1 tomato
oil

How to:

1. To start on the chicken, mix together the hot sauce, cumin seeds, garam masala, garlic and tamarind paste with some water and blend in a blender until it makes a smooth paste.

3. In the meantime, finely chop the onion and cook on a low heat for around 10-15 minutes.

4. Whilst the onion is sweating, boil a kettle, peel the potatoes and cut into quarters. Then place in a large pan of boiling water with plenty of salt and the turmeric and cook until done.

5. Once the onions have done their thing, put the marinated chicken and paste into the first pan with the  onions and mix well. Add a little more water if necessary to stop it sticking and then leave to simmer on a low heat until the chicken is done.

7. To do the Bombay Aloo, place the tomato puree, sliced cloves of garlic, curry and cumin powders, chillies, worcestershire sauce and quartered tomato into a frying pan and then heat slowly for a few minutes on a frying pan. Once this is done, add the boiled poattoes to the mix. I mashed mine up a little bit.

Hope I haven't missed anything out, am doing this from memory! Oh, and forgot to take a pic of the finished product too! Doh - have to make it again sometime then....
